Artist name: Sewe
Artist completed her secondary education in Princess Island (Istanbul-Turkey).
Sewe then decided to continue her studies abroad and moved to Belgium in 1990.
1991- 1994 Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Berchem in Belgium.
1994 – 2007 She founded the first Turkish theater in Belgium and received lessons from director and screenwriter Carlos Thuis. She subsequently wrote her own screenplays and directed her works.
2007-2011 She continued her training in the discipline of contemporary painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and received painting lessons from Hans Bruyneel.
Subsequently, between 2011 and 2024, she took lessons in the disciplines of classical sculpture with Rafaël Vergauwen and contemporary sculpture with Erik Van In at the Hoboken Academy. Sewe graduated and obtained her specialization certificate in 2024.
In 2010 she founded her own gallery ArtWorld in Wilrijk. She has organized more than a hundred international group and solo exhibitions. Sewe continues to exhibit her artwork in the ArtWorld gallery and her works have been exhibited in various other galleries and places. In her works, Sewe is mainly concerned with women's rights, migration and wars.
The versatile artist has two published books and two more currently in the works.
A total of 6 of her plays are performed in different languages.
